Virtual Artspace 3- Arts Sanctuary at the Crossroads in San Bernardino
Latest Info from DOL
Arts in Ed Jobs- Anyone? Where do all the teachers go? Anyone using ARRA money to create community arts/learning spaces? Write us here and let us know. Virtual Artspace 3 is a wiki conversation space posted by grad student, C. Lebo. It's an extension of an insight that California just might be a space for new teams of collaborations and might turn into a new horizon of opportunities instead of a morass of broken dreams.
We have heard rumors of nonprofits helping to stabilize neighborhoods and social enterprise.
We'd like to bring such great and positive ideas to light.
Do you have content, ideas, articles, papers and instructors who have professional placement ideas, courses to offer, or might want to collaborate with others who are wondering what might emmerge out of the grand economic shift that is afoot.
New Education Options, Inc., our 501 c 3 is looking for a little connectivity.
We have begun to explore what could happen to creating jobs for teachers during a summer vacation period like no other. As an interim activity while all the ups and downs are going on, we thought continuing education might be an oasis to maintain dreams, cope with dramas, and ready for a return in assignment(s). We want to capture input to discuss with other teachers and hear about other's great uses of ARRA funds.
You are invited to "wiki in" about what's happening to you as an arts educator, adult educator, afterschool provider, artist, nonprofit and the like.
If you want to write some articles and express what teaching means to you, the need for new kinds of learning communities, optional teaching spaces and for underwriting, we are looking for talent and educators and parents who care for what's next in Education. If some of the old, tried and no longer true paths for career options are too fluid to be sustainable- why not start a wiki-log about what would work? Who you'd like to work with? What this kind of workforce development might look like?
What are you doing with your time and focus in these dog day months?
What do you think San Bernardino-Riverside-LA counties need? What's going on in your neighborhood.
Please let us know.

There was an email that went out on 4/14/2009 from April Eales (EDD) titled " American Recovery & Reinvestment Act (ARRA) Funds & Reporting" Attached to this email was a Document titled "ARRA purpose narrative". Within the ARRA narrative there are sections that outline the amount of time ARRA funds are available for ADULT, DISLOCATED WORKER, and YOUTH.
"This adds American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) funds under GCs 102, 103, 105, and 106; and participants only GC 107."
The beginning and end date for all Gc's is listed as February 17th, 2009 to June 30th, 2010. Is this correct?
The TEGL states that ARRA funds must be spent or obligated by the end of FY 2010 (or June 30th 2011). Can you please provide clarification or list a TEGL with the most up to date information on this?
Thank you

By what time period or Program Year are we being measured against for the increase in training enrollments with ARRA funds? It is our (San Bernardino County) understanding that we will expected to "double" the amount of WIA training enrollments with ARRA funding but we are not clear which year we will be measured against? Will it be Program 2007-2008 since it is the most recently completed program year?
